You can't wear heels in a race car:
But that doesn't mean you shouldn't be able to heel-toe in one. Anyone that has take a Gk5 Fit to the track can tell you that the default pedal positions make using a heel-toe technique incredibly difficult, if not impossible. The solution? Move the throttle pedal toward the driver, better aligning the brake and accelerator pedals. The ACUITY Throttle Pedal Spacer (or more technically, Accelerator Pedal Relocation Bracket), helps resolve this problem by providing three unique new positions for your accelerator pedal. In addition to moving the pedal toward the driver, the ACUITY Throttle Pedal Spacer allows you to move the pedals closer together, laterally, to aid drivers with narrow feet.
The ACUITY Throttle Pedal Spacer allows the driver to select one of 3 possible non-stock pedal locations. Each location provides a slightly different driving feel. We recommend trying them all to find what suits you best. Below is a brief description of each position.
- Position A moves the throttle pedal closest to the driver
- Position B is slightly further from the driver than Position A and slightly closer to the brake pedal, laterally
- Position C is furthest from the driver (still much closer than stock) and also moves the accelerator pedal closer to the brake pedal, laterally, like Position B
- 2014-2017 Honda Fit (Does not fit RHD vehicles)
Hi, I just received my order of the Acuity accelerator pedal relocation brace both for my FK8 and GK5 and i was blown away by the build quality. Keep it up guys.
I love this thing. It impoves the GK5's drivability so much. I don't know what the Honda engineers were thinking by not allowing heel toe driving to be a viable option. Keep up the good work. I look forward to seeing more functional products to drain my wallet on.
After trying to perform heel/toe downshifts in my new 2017 Honda Fit I quickly realized it is just not set up to do so from the factory. After finding Acuity's shifter bushing upgrade and loving it I began following them on social media. Then one day it happened! Introducing: the new Acuity throttle pedal relocation bracket! My prayers were answered and I ordered one as soon as I could! After trying the 3 location options I too settled on position C. B was too level with the brake pedal for my liking.
Anyway, thanks Acuity for putting out another much needed and well engineered upgrade for the GK5 platform! Please keep them coming!
I was super excited to hear that Acuity had an accelerator pedal relocation bracket in the works and it finally released on 10/3! First off, Acuity has ridiculously fast shipping. The next day my product was shipped out and the day after that it's installed in my car. You don't get that kind of service just anywhere...
Installation was silly smooth. The only difficult part for me was installing the allen bolts because I don't have an allen socket. I had to use an allen key which works just fine, but you're a bit tight on space down in your footwell area. Invest in the allen socket and make your life easy! :)
As for the product itself, quality was top-notch; no surprise there. The bracket provides the user with 3 position settings. Truth be told, I only tried out "B" and "C." In the end, I opted for "C" because it brings the pedal closer to the brake pedal and also places it lower by 11mm. I found this to be the most comfortable setting for me.
Thank you Acuity for another great product!
